Privacy Policy

The short version

Your bank statement never leaves your device. BankShark reads and converts your PDF entirely in your browser, using your device's own processing power. Nothing is uploaded to a server, because there is no server in that part of the process — there's nothing to upload to.

Your statements and files

The PDF you drop in, and any optional client-matching spreadsheet you upload, are processed locally in your browser's memory using JavaScript. They are never transmitted anywhere, logged, or stored by us. Closing the tab clears everything. We have no way to see, access, or recover any file you process.

Analytics

We use Umami, a privacy-focused analytics tool, to see anonymous, aggregate usage — for example, how many statements were converted and for which bank. Umami does not use cookies and does not collect or store any personally identifiable information. It cannot see the contents of your statement, only that a conversion happened.

If you email us

If you reach out with a feature request or question, we'll have your email address and whatever you wrote to us — nothing more. We won't add you to a mailing list or share your address with anyone.

Bank names and trademarks

Bank and fintech names shown in BankShark (e.g. Piraeus Bank, Eurobank, Payhawk, Revolut) are used only to describe which statement formats BankShark can read. BankShark is an independent tool, not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any bank or fintech named in the app.
